부산광역시 금정산에 있는 조계종 사찰로 삼국유사에 의하면 신라 문무왕18년 (678년) 의상대사가 창건하였다. 임진왜란때 전소되었다가 광해군5년 다시 재건하였고 6.25전쟁 당시 국군장병유골 안치소로 사용되었다.
Located on Geumjeongsan Mountain in Busan, this temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism was founded by the monk Uisang in the 18th year of King Munmu of Silla (678), according to the Samguk Yusa (Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms). The temple was completely destroyed during the Imjin War (Japanese invasions of Korea, 1592–1598) but was rebuilt in the 5th year of King Gwanghaegun's reign. During the Korean War (1950–1953), it was used as a temporary ossuary to enshrine the remains of South Korean soldiers.

Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Gyeongju Station. From Gyeongju Station, Bulguksa can be reached within an hour by local bus or taxi.
