경상남도 양산시 하북면 영축산에 있는 조계종 불보 사찰로 신라 선덕여왕15년(646년) 자장율사가 창건하였다. 불보 사찰 통도사에는 대웅전에 불상을 모시지 않고 석가모니의 진신사리를 봉안하고 있으며 대웅전은 국가문화재 국보로 지정되어 있다.
Located on Yeongchuksan Mountain in Habuk-myeon, Yangsan-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, this Buddha Jewel (Bulbo) Temple of the Jogye Order was founded in the 15th year of Queen Seondeok of Silla (646) by the monk Jajang Yulsa. At Tongdosa Temple, no Buddha statue is enshrined in the Daeungjeon Hall; instead, it houses a relic of the historical Buddha (Śākyamuni). The Daeungjeon Hall itself is designated as a National Treasure of Korea.

대중교통으로 통도사 가는 길 :

통도사는 KTX울산역에서 버스나 택시로 1시간 안에 이동할 수 있다. 버스를 이용하는 경우 양산이 아니고 신평터미널까지 이동하여 버스나 택시를 이용하면 30분안에 도착할 수 있다.

From KTX Ulsan Station, you can reach Tongdosa Temple by bus or taxi in less than one hour. If traveling by bus, note that you should go to Sinpyeong Terminal (not Yangsan), from where you can reach the temple by bus or taxi in about 30 minutes.
