7SEVENSMART: 예산

충청남도 예산군 덕산면 덕숭산에 있는 조계종 불교사찰로 고문헌에 언급된 백제시대 12사찰중 유일하게 현존하는 유서깊은 사찰이다. 수덕사 대웅전은 고려 충열왕34년(1308년)에 만든 목조건축물로 이후 여러 차례 중수를 거쳐 오늘에 이르고 있다.

Located on Deoksungsan Mountain in Deoksan-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, this Jogye Order Buddhist temple is the only surviving temple among the twelve temples mentioned in ancient records from the Baekje period, making it a site of great historical significance. The Daeungjeon Hall of Sudeoksa Temple, a wooden structure built in the 34th year of King Chungnyeol of Goryeo (1308), has been preserved through multiple renovations over the centuries.

서울 용산역에서 장항선을 이용 천안역을 거쳐 예산역이나 홍성역에 도착 버스나 택시를 이용하여 1시간 안에 갈 수 있다.

Getting to Sudeoksa Temple by public transportation:

Take the Janghang Line from Yongsan Station in Seoul and travel via Cheonan Station to either Yesan Station or Hongseong Station. From there, you can reach Sudeoksa Temple by bus or taxi in less than one hour.
