[불교사찰] 수덕사 Sudeoksa Buddhist Temple, South Korea

충청남도 예산군 덕산면 덕숭산에 있는 조계종 불교사찰로 고문헌에 언급된 백제시대 12사찰중 유일하게 현존하는 유서깊은 사찰이다. 수덕사 대웅전은 고려 충열왕34년(1308년)에 만든 목조건축물로 이후 여러 차례 중수를 거쳐 오늘에 이르고 있다.

Located on Deoksungsan Mountain in Deoksan-myeon, Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, this Jogye Order Buddhist temple is the only surviving temple among the twelve temples mentioned in ancient records from the Baekje period, making it a site of great historical significance. The Daeungjeon Hall of Sudeoksa Temple, a wooden structure built in the 34th year of King Chungnyeol of Goryeo (1308), has been preserved through multiple renovations over the centuries.

[불교사찰] 직지사 Jikjisa Buddhist Temple, South Korea

경상북도 김천시 대항면 황학산에 있는 조계종 불교사찰 고구려 아도화상이 창건했다는 설도 있으나 신라 눌지왕2년 (418년) 묵호자가 경북 구미 도리사와 함께 창건하고 이후 여러차례 중수를 거쳐 오늘에 이르고 있다.

Located on Hwanghaksan Mountain in Daehang-myeon, Gimcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, this Buddhist temple of the Jogye Order is traditionally believed to have been founded by the Goguryeo monk Ado. However, historical records suggest that it was established in the 2nd year of King Nulji of Silla (418) by the monk Mukhoja, alongside Dorisa Temple in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. The temple has undergone numerous renovations over the centuries to reach its present form.

KTX 김천구미역은 너무 멀리있고 일반 기차로 김천 시내에 있는 김천역까지 이동 김천역에서 버스나 택시를 이용하여 직지사까지 1시간 안에 갈 수 있다.

[불교사찰] 봉정사 Bongjungsa Buddhist temple, South Korea

경상북도 안동시 서후면 천등산에 있는 조계종 불교사찰 신라 문무왕12년 (672년) 의상대사가 창건하였으며 대한민국에서 현존하는 가장오래된 목조건축물 봉정사 극락전(1363년중수)이 자리잡고 있다.

Located on Cheondeungsan Mountain in Seohu-myeon, Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, this Buddhist temple of the Jogye Order was founded in the 12th year of King Munmu of Silla (672) by the monk Uisang. It is home to the Geungnakjeon Hall of Bongjeongsa Temple, which was renovated in 1363 and is the oldest surviving wooden building in South Korea

봉정사 인근에서 꼭 봐야할 명소 :

안동역에서 봉정사는 가까운거리에 있고 인근에 위치한 안동하회마을과 병산서원이 꼭 방문해보아야할 문화유산이다. 첫번째로 안동화회마을은 풍산류씨의 집성촌으로 조선시대 한국 전통가옥이 아직까지 유지되고 있는 전통마을로 세계문화유산에 등재된 중요한 문화유산이다. 두번째로 병산서원은 풍산류씨의 집안 서당으로 만들어져 임진왜란 기간동안 조선을 이끈 명재상 서애 류성룡이 낙향하여 징비록을 집필한 장소로 유명한 장소이다.

First, Andong Hahoe Folk Village is a traditional village that served as a clan village for the Pungsan Ryu family. It has maintained its traditional Korean houses from the Joseon Dynasty and is an important cultural heritage site listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Second, Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy was originally built as a family school for the Pungsan Ryu clan. It is famous as the place where Seo-ae Ryu Seong-ryong, a renowned prime minister who led Joseon during the Imjin War, retired and wrote the Jingbirok (Book of Corrections).

[불교사찰] 부석사 Buseoksa Buddhist temple, South Korea

경상북도 영주시 부석면 복지리 소백산 자락에 위치한 조계종 불교사찰 신라 문무왕 16년 (676년) 의상대사가 창건하였으며 우리나라에서 가장 오래된 목조 건축물 무량수전과 조사당등 문화재가 남아있다.

Located in Bokji-ri, Buseok-myeon, Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, at the foot of Sobaeksan Mountain, this Buddhist temple of the Jogye Order was founded in the 16th year of King Munmu of Silla (676) by the monk Uisang. It is home to cultural treasures such as the Muryangsujeon Hall and the Josadang Shrine, which include the oldest wooden buildings in Korea.

부석사 인근에서 꼭 봐야할 명소 :
풍기역에서 부석사를 찾아가다 보면 소수서원이 나타난다. 소수서원은 우리나라 최초의 서원으로 1541년 풍기군수 주세붕이 설립한 유교교육기관으로 조선시대 최초의 사액서원으로 유교역사에 아주 중요한 문화유적이다.
